Scope

The mission of this site is to present the history of the Hiram A. McAdams family of Walker and Grimes Counties, Texas.

The scope of this site is generally limited to the immediate family of Hiram Augustus McAdams. However, it would not be possible to examine this family without taking a look at preceding generations.

Therefore, you will see detailed information on the Hiram McAdams family and limited historical/genealogical information related to the larger John McAdams, Jr. and John McAdams, Sr. families.

Privacy and Acceptable Use

The Hiram A. McAdams Family web site (MCADAMS.ORG) is provided to the public to be used primarily for research into the history and genealogy of the McAdams family of Walker County, Texas and certain other related families. This is a non-commercial site, and nothing posted here may used for commercial purposes of any type. The goal of this site is to provide a central place for the collection of historical material related to the included family lines.

All genealogy sites run the risk of posting personal information that some individuals would rather not see published in a public forum. Accordingly, the following is the privacy and acceptable use policy of the Hiram A. McAdams Family web site (MCADAMS.ORG):

Names, e-mail addresses, postal addresses, and telephone numbers submitted to MCADAMS.ORG will not be provided to any third party.
Biographical data (dates) for living individuals will not be posted on MCADAMS.ORG. In the absence of a known death date, the automatic filtering software assumes that individuals born before 1910 are no longer living.
Information regarding specific individuals will be removed from the main database upon request. Be aware, however, that if a divorced spouse is deleted, any children of that marriage will also be deleted.
Any person viewing MCADAMS.ORG may freely download, copy, or otherwise transfer any and all material contained herein. However, none of the information, graphics, or images may be used for commercial purposes.
Requests to link to the MCADAMS.ORG URL will be considered on a case by case basis.
The accuracy of the information contained in the genealogy database cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each individual user to independently verify all genealogy data.

History Articles

Documents and Republic of Texas Documents

Two individuals are responsible for the extensive list of historical documents on this site:

Dorothy Langley - Collected and preserved the actual paper documents. Dorothy Langley is the granddaughter-in-law of Hiram McAdams.
Don Wafer - Scanned and made the documents "web-ready". Don also mounted the original documents under glass so that the originals would always be available to view. Don Wafer is Hiram McAdams' great-grandson.
